Choose the Right Compression Fitting for Thermocouples and RTDs:

• Choose the ideal material of compression fitting. The choices are abundant since materials are available in stainless steel, brass, copper and PTFE (Teflon).
• Threading measurement and type should sync with the existing equipment where you are installing the device. Any mismatch will lead to damaged parts. Prevalent threading types are BSP, tapered thread (BSPT), Metric and NPT.
• In the compression fitting, adjust the sliding position to make sure sensor’s tip is adequately embedded into the Process.
• Use of correct thread sealants or thread seal tapes like PTFE tape is imperative. The fitting should be rigid and executed with the right tools.
